Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach students general first aid.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Awareness of signs and symptoms of the ill or injured person, risks to self and others from the environment, and evidence-based first aid treatments.
  • Appropriate psychomotor responses to address injury or illness, such as opening an airway or applying direct pressure on bleeding
  • Gaining additional help if needed, and providing appropriate care using knowledge and skills
  • Recognize, assess and prioritize the need for first aid
  • Provide care using appropriate competencies, i.e. first aid knowledge, skills and behaviours
Course Description Importance of first aid, basic life support (adult-child-infant), basic life support (CPR) practice, foreign body obstruction (Choking-adult-child-infant), first aid, first aid bleeding and injuries, (Fractures, dislocations, sprains), Bites, stings, Allergic reactions. , burns. Drownings, Hot and cold injuries, Poisoning, Patient transportation techniques.
